We have lots of beautiful material for you fresh out of the kiln this week. All 6/4 thickness, there are a multitude of live edge slabs in hard maple and cherry. The candy in this one is the cookies. Cherry, hard maple, burled cherry, and burled hard maple.
The burls were coated with my dad’s special formula to prevent / reduce checking and degrade that can happen in the kiln even though we use the mildest schedules known to man. No it’s not wax. We have been putting the cookies through the planer and Man! do they look sweet. The helical head does an exemplary job even on the swirliest burliest.
